Bangers and Mash

Bangers and Mash is a classic British dish. Bangers refers to sausages and mash is mashed potatoes. The term "Bangers" is used because sausages tend to burst or bang out of their skins in ovens when heated.
Sausages are stuffed animal parts such as organ meat (livers, pancreas, heart, lungs) or blood of the animal in the animals intestines. They are stuffed so that the remaining parts after butchering are used in food. They are preserved by adding salt, spices or by smoking and curing.

Thanks Giving Turkey Sandwich

Perhaps, the most thing that comes to mind at year end is thanksgiving. And the turkey as the centrepiece of year end gatherings. The bird is much larger than the usual chicken fowl. The meat is much harder and sumptuous too. If u are giving away a thanksgiving party and have a lot of leftover turkey, here is what u can do with it. Make a turkey sandwich.
Mayonaise Preparation
2-1/2 Cups heavy mayonnaise
2 Tablespoons sugar
1/3 Cup pureed chipolte in adobo sauce
3 Medium limes, juiced

Blend mayonnaise, sugar, pureed chipolte and lime juice together in a medium bowl. Cover and place in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

What is Sheer Korma?

Sheer Korma literally means Vermicelli Pudding. This is a preparation had by people in Arab Countries, Pakistan and India. It is usually had by Muslims on the Festival of Eid-Ul-Fitr along with Biryani.
The ingredients for this preparation are:
120 gms vermicelli
4 cups milk
1/4 tbsp saffron
5 tbs sugar or more if required
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
1 tbs. charoli wiped with cloth
10 almonds blanched
15 Pistachios blanched
2 tbs kishmis cleaned
8 to 10 drops of rose essence.
1 tbs clarified butter.
2 silver varks (leaves)

It is best eaten hot and just out of the pan.

How to Make:
Heat the saffron in a small metal bowl on very low fire, shaking the bowl all the time so that the saffron threads do not turn. When cooled, crush it with fingertips and keep aside.
Heat clarified butter in a heavy-bottomed pan, lower the fire, put in the vermicelli and fry to a light golden colour. Pour a cup of water.
In a few minutes the vermicelli would become soft. Pour milk and cook for 8 minutes.
Add sugar and simmer for another few minutes till a little thick.
Cut blanched almonds and Pistachios into fine slivers. Add half of these along with Charoli, Cardamom powder, Kishmis, crushed Saffron and rose essence.
Either rose essence or saffron should be used to keep the flavour pure.

Pour the ready Shirkhurma in a big glass bowl and sprinkle the remaining slivers of almond and pistachios. Garnish with silver varg and serve hot or cold.

What is a Galbi?

Galbi is a Typical Korean Lunch. It literally means ribs of beef. Or more specifically grilled ribs. This happens to be the main dish of a lunch. The meat is cooked on a griddle or grill. It is cooked on the lunch tables itself, and hence you get to try it first hand. Something like a fondue.

There are other side dishes known as Banchan for a lunch. This could be like salads, sprouted beans or dried leaves of certain plants. Usually people sit on the floor for a galbi with short stools for the luch tables. A Once in a lifetime fine experience.

Züri Gschnätzeltes

This is a very Swiss dish. It is eaten in many parts of switzerland. The main incredient is veal meat, which is meat of a calf. Other ingredients include mushrooms and the cream sauce it comes with.

In many variations, vegetables such as carrots, raddish or cauli flowers might be used instead of the mushrooms. The cream sauce is as its name suggests-cream.
I found it a delicacy and would suggest it to people who would like a touch of swiss cuisine other than the usual cheese fondue. Very appetizing and memorable. The veal is very soft cooked for this dish and the vegetables make a good appetizer too.

Have it with a soft drink or a beer or wine. A nice lunch and a good experience at the same time.
